Wellness trends worth taking into 2026 🙏🏼🧬✨
.. and what 2025 taught me.
First off, hi 👋🏻☺️ and welcome!
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Jen the person behind sync organics on instagram – a destination where women can go to learn more about their body, its intricately interconnected health systems and the research behind holistic health strategies such as smart nutrition, movement, nervous system regulation, the latest health and wellness tech and much, much more, proven to support optimal and sustainable health and wellbeing.
Before diving in I want to share what, for now, you can expect from this new medium from me. While instagram will remain a concise, informative destination you can revert to for quick takes on the latest, evidence-led insights into holistic health and wellbeing, this platform will be a space where we explore holistic health more deeply, in a more raw and explorative way, from my lens.
As someone who has felt increasingly disconnected from fast, visually driven platforms it felt intuitively aligned to expand @syncorganics to here, a place which is more harmonious with my creative energy and authentically complements how I naturally communicate, and if you, like me, are feeling disconnected from always engaging with a screen I cannot recommend text-to-speech tools like Peech enough, to listen to these insights as you go about your day.
So let’s jump in – and for those who have found their way here from Instagram, it feels important to acknowledge that for the past 6-9+ months I’ve been largely offline, from my professional social media and posting that is, due to the all-consuming, heartbreaking reality of navigating life with a family member fighting a severe and sadly terminal cancer diagnosis last year.
If I’m speaking honestly, to say 2025 was a difficult year feels grossly inadequate. It shook my entire being, it stripped me bare. No one can ever prepare you for what navigating a health crisis, like cancer, as a family may be, all I can say is that it can involve and bring up much more than what you may think depending on the circumstance. Throughout this period my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing were tested in ways I would never have anticipated before this heartbreaking and sadly very prevalent situation became my reality.
At the beginning of last year, having just relocated from one side of the world to the other – something I was having great difficulty with – I had with my whole heart, hoped, 2025 would mark the beginning of a new chapter of opportunity, ease and forward momentum. I never anticipated what it was, in actuality, going to be.
Astrologically I knew upheaval and change was the prominent theme and my innately optimistic mind took that as only positive things. Little did I know the ‘Year of the Snake’ was going to rattle my world in far more tumultuous ways, while also emphasising that two very conflicting experiences can be simultaneously true.
Because, while metaphorically, some parts of my world were burning down to the ground and chaos was the consistent theme surrounding me, I simultaneously felt calmer and more connected to myself than I ever had before. Irrelevant of what was unfolding I remained grounded in my authenticity, while also accepting and facing the present moment in time – I had seemingly grasped the ability to stay in attunement with me and trust in divine timing. Last year wasn’t the year for me to force goals, ambitions or plans, it was the year I finally learnt to let go, to accept that we can only do what we can, and that is and always will be enough irrelevant of the circumstance.
As someone who is deeply committed to respecting, nurturing and prioritising my health, the reality of my life and day to day experiences last year tested my body in new, unforeseeable ways. After years of nurturing my body back to full health – having previously suffered severe iron deficiency anaemia to the point my iron levels weren’t registering on tests, paired with debilitating digestive issues, severely disrupted sleep, and Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (the lack of a cycle or period) for almost a decade – prior to last year my health was at its peak. But the emotional weight, chaos and trauma that having a family member suffer through something as devastating as a terminal cancer diagnosis can take and stimulate knocked my health for six and it completely depleted me of my creative energy.
Thankfully, as we enter the new year life feels calm and for the first time in a long time I can see and connect with the path ahead. My creative energy and health are back, perhaps even better than before thanks to some key reminders last year.
Because on top of learning to let go and accepting some things are simply outside of our control, last year also emphasised two critical things – that, sometimes no matter how hard you try, the forces of nature and realities of life can influence your health and wellbeing in insurmountable ways, and that when it comes to health and wellbeing mastering the foundations are absolutely key, both as a preventative measure for later in life but also to help sustain equilibrium within through the trials and tribulations that can arise throughout life, and this is something that is vastly overlooked, particularly in the rise of the health tech and hack revolution. We’ve become so fixated on doing this and doing that, many of us are living under the illusion that we’re doing all the ‘right’ things while overlooking the proven foundations necessary to cultivate true, holistic, sustainable health and wellbeing.
While it was living in an all-consuming, chronically stressful, emotionally heart wrenching and testing period that emphasised this more than ever for me, the foundations are essential for all women in every life cycle and phase and perhaps they’re even more important when everything is seemingly ‘ok’ because the foundations are the building blocks that work behind the scenes – and sometimes in the midst of life when we’re consumed by keeping up with the day-to-day pressures and responsibilities we’re all faced with we can become disconnected from our bodies and tuning into and truly honouring its innate needs.
Without the foundations mastered experiences like ‘unexplained’ fatigue, lethargy, poor focus, concentration, learning, memory, reduced mood, irritability, increased sensitivity, incessant cravings, poor sleep quality, anxiety, annovulation, missed or delayed periods, reproductive fragility, infertility and so much more can present, inhibiting us from living in alignment with the best version of our health and self. Not to mention the increased risk of long term health impacts.
In contrast, once the foundations are mastered and the roots are deeply embedded within, from here we can add, build and optimise our health in more bespoke ways. Though, until then your health and wellbeing can easily shake or shatter, particularly when pressure is applied, and you’re really not going to see any meaningful, longlasting change.
So, while according to the Chinese Zodiac last year was the year of the snake – a year of disruption, stripping and transformation, this year is the year of the horse – the year of strength, forward momentum and rebirth, a year where we can all hone in and commit to honouring and loving our body, and ultimately ourselves, in the most intentional and positively impactful way, and if like me, you’re deeply committed to doing what you can to cultivate the best version of your health and self, these are three health and wellness ‘trends’ that lay the foundations for sustainable optimal health and wellbeing I’d recommend bringing forward and deeply committing to this year –
